Acceptable Use Policy
What you can and can't do on our game server hosting network.
Last updated: August 6, 2026
FadedCloud's network supports game servers and Discord bots for players, communities, and small studios. We provide the infrastructure; you shape what runs on it. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") explains what that comes with responsibility-wise — as the account holder, you're expected to take reasonable steps to make sure your service isn't used for abusive, illegal, or harmful purposes, whether that's your own actions or the environment you create for your players. By using our Services, you agree to this AUP as well as our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This policy applies to every FadedCloud service — game servers and Discord bot hosting — and to everyone with access to one, whether that's a solo customer running a private world or a community owner with dozens of players and moderators on their server. If you're the account holder, it's your responsibility to make sure your use of the Service, and the environment you create for others on it, stays within these rules.
2. What You Can't Do
We monitor server performance and resource usage to keep the network running smoothly, but we don't actively review the content or activity inside the services you run. That said, if we learn our platform is being used in a way that causes harm, breaks the law, or puts others at risk, we will act. This list isn't exhaustive — if you're unsure whether something is permitted, ask us before proceeding.
Illegal or dangerous activity. Breaking any applicable law; hosting or distributing malware, ransomware, or phishing tools; launching, coordinating, or assisting DDoS attacks or other network abuse; hosting pirated software, cracked games, or unauthorized copies of paid mods, plugins, or add-ons; or doing anything intended to disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure.
Harmful content or behavior. Harassment, bullying, threats, or stalking; promoting hate speech or violent extremism; content involving the exploitation of minors; or encouraging self-harm or dangerous behavior.
Misleading, abusive, or deceptive practices. Knowingly spreading false information to cause harm or confusion; impersonating others (including FadedCloud staff); or phishing, social engineering, or other attempts to obtain private data through deception.
Misuse of Services. Cryptocurrency mining; running open proxies, VPNs, or anonymizing/tunneling services for others; unauthorized bots, scraping, or spam; or any use that degrades network performance or reliability for other customers.
Depending on the severity of a violation, we may remove content, suspend or terminate the service, deny a refund, restrict features, or throttle resources — and where illegal activity or a threat to others is involved, we may report the incident to law enforcement.
3. Service-Specific Expectations
Game servers (Minecraft, ARK: Survival Evolved, Palworld, Counter-Strike 2, FiveM, RUST, Valheim, Terraria). You may not upload or distribute pirated modpacks or paid plugins without proper licensing, circumvent developer licensing or server-software protections, or monetize your server in a way that violates the game's EULA (for example, selling pay-to-win advantages in violation of a developer's monetization policy). You're responsible for your server's compliance with the relevant game's EULA and any applicable modding rules.
Discord bot hosting. Bots may not be used to spam, scrape, phish, or collect user data without clear disclosure and consent, and may not violate Discord's own Terms of Service (including rules on selfbots or auto-joiners). You're responsible for the behavior of any bot you host with us.
4. Respect the Games You Host
Every game we host comes with its own license terms, modding rules, and monetization policies set by its developer or publisher. As the account holder, it's on you to make sure your server complies with those requirements — including restrictions on pay-to-win monetization or disallowed mods and plugins. Using FadedCloud doesn't exempt you from a game's EULA.
5. Abuse Reporting
If you see our services being used for something abusive, illegal, or harmful, report it through our contact page. Include as much context as you can — IP addresses, logs, timestamps, or screenshots — to help us investigate quickly.
6. Fair Use
Where a plan advertises unmetered storage or bandwidth, that's designed to comfortably cover normal use for the type of server it's sold for — not to be repurposed as general file storage or a CDN. Sustained, abnormal resource consumption that impacts network performance for other customers — runaway scripts, memory leaks, or usage far outside typical patterns for your plan — may result in throttling, migration, or suspension, regardless of intent.
7. Let's Build Something Great
We're here to support the communities you build, whatever shape they take. Creating something great starts with treating others fairly and using our services responsibly — when you do that, everyone running on our network benefits.
8. Updates to This Policy
We may revise this Acceptable Use Policy as our services evolve. We'll update the "last updated" date above when we do, and for significant changes we'll try to notify customers directly. Still unsure if something's okay? Reach out through our contact page — we're happy to help you stay in bounds while doing what you're trying to do.
